Dr. Stefania Falasca, Vice President

Born in Rome in 1963, Dr. Falasca earned a doctorate of research in 'Italianistica' from the Università degli Studi di Roma Tor Vergata with a thesis focusing on the: «Sermo humilis and literary references in the writings of Albino Luciani, the case of Illustrissimi», first ever doctoral thesis on the work of the Pope from Veneto. From 2007 to 2017, as vice postulator of the Cause for the canonisation of John Paul I, she directed the Inquisitio dioecesana suppletiva and achieved the realisation of the Positio super virtutibus. As from 2013 she was Vatican affairs journalist and editorialist at «Avvenire». For over twenty years prior to that she worked as a journalist for the international magazine «30 Giorni nella Chiesa e nel Mondo» (30 Days in the Church and the World). For «La Grande Storia» on Rai 3 (Channel 3 of Italian State television) she collaborated in the making of a documentary film: John Paul I. The smiling Pope (2005). In 2017 she was awarded the 'Premio Giuseppe De Carli' for religious information. Amongst her essays are: My brother Albino. Recollections and memories of Papa Luciani's sister (Rome 2003); A Bishop against Hitler. Von Galen, Pius XII and resistance to nazism ( Cinisello Balsamo 2006). She also collaborated with Rizzoli, the publishing house that brought to print the following: John XXIII, a revolution in tenderness (Milan 2014); Forgetfulness of God. Pope Francis, a conversation with Stefania Falasca (Bologna 2016). In 2017 for Piemme and in 2020 for the 'Libreria Editrice Vaticana' (Vatican publishing house) she edited Papa Luciani. Chronicle of a death. Together with Davide Fiocco and Mauro Velati she wrote the official biography of Albino Luciani: John Paul I. Biography ex documentis (Vatican City 2020). It represents the result of a decade of work focused on research and acquired documentary sources.

Dr. Alfonso Cauteruccio, Secretary

Born in Buonvicino (Cosenza) in 1958, Dr. Cauteruccio earned a degree in Canon Law and a Vatican diploma in Archival and Library Science. Currently in office at the General Secretariat of the Synod of Bishops, he previously worked for the Central Committee of the Extraordinary Jubilee of Redemption (1983), the Central Committee of the Great Jubilee of the Year 2000 and the Pontifical Council for Legislative Texts. From 2004 to 2016 he was 'secretarius' of the magazine «Communicationes». As from 2011 he is president of the cultural Association Greenaccord, after having held the post of Secretary General.

Postulator General of the Cause for the canonisation of John Paul I since 2015.

Originally from the diocese of Vittorio Veneto, his formation in the Seminary took place while Albino Luciani was still Bishop there. In fact it was Luciani who decided he should enter the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy to undertake studies in diplomacy.

Mons. Andrea Celli

A priest of the diocese of Rome, where he was born on the 27 December 1966. He gained a degree in Law and qualified in the legal profession prior to John Paul II ordaining him to the priesthood. He also earned a license in Moral Theology and a doctorate in Canon Law while he was training for the priesthood. For two decades he held the position of director of the Juridical Office of the Vicariate of Rome. At the same time he actively engaged in pastoral ministry as collaborator in various parishes of the Vicariate and as parish priest at the Church of San Tommaso Moro. Currently parish priest at the Church of Saint Pius X in Rome, he is also responsible for the Juridical Observatory of the Episcopal Conference of the Lazio region.

Prof. Davide Fiocco 

A priest from the diocese of Belluno-Feltre, originally from Canale d'Agordo, he is currently director of the 'Papa Luciani Centre of Spirituality and Culture' at Santa Giustina (Belluno) and of the Diocesan Office of communications and culture. Appointed professor of Patrology at Treviso's John Paul I, Higher Institute of religious studies and at Bolzano's Higher Institute of religious studies, he gained his doctorate in theology from the Pontifical Lateran University with a thesis on the Augustinian epistles. He edited the first edition in Italian of Sulpicio Severo, Letters and dialogues, published by Città Nuova, (Rome 2007). As from 2012 he was requested by his diocese to take part in the Postulation of the Cause for the canonisation of John Paul I and the drawing up of the Positio.

Dott.ssa Lina Petri

Born in Levico Terme (Trento) in 1956, she is the niece of John Paul I, daughter of Antonia Luciani, the Pope's sister. From 1986 to 2016 she worked at the Holy See Press Office.
