The blessing of the new offices

Cardinal Pietro Parolin blessed the new headquarters of the Foundation in the presence of the author of the portrait, master Yan Zhang, the Board of Directors and the Scientific Committee with professors Carlo Ossola, Dario Vitali, Gilfredo Marengo, Mauro Velati, the director of the Patriarchal Archive and Library of Venice, Diego Sartorelli, and the archivist Flavia Tudini. At the end of the blessing and after the toast for the Foundation's three-year anniversary, a meeting of the Scientific Committee was held with Cardinal Parolin, and it was also attended by Monsignor Andrea Celli, who spoke to explain the value of the transfer of copyrights to the Foundation by the heirs and the memorandum of understanding with the Pontifical Gregorian University. Cardinal Parolin thanked the Scientific Committee for their dedication to this work dedicated to the custody, study and dissemination of a precious legacy for the Church. He retraced the significant stages of the acquisition of Luciani's private Archives and his library, stressing that in these three years important steps have been taken and the foundations have been laid that allow the research and in-depth study of John Paul I's magisterial legacy in the light of the sources to be fostered internationally.
